The Medical College of Georgia (often referred to as MCG) is the oldest and founding school of Georgia Regents University and the flagship public medical school for the U.S. state of Georgia. Established in 1828 as the Medical Academy of Georgia, MCG is the third-oldest medical school in the Southeast. With 22 departments and sections, it offers both a Doctor of Medicine (MD) as well as an MD-PhD degree. Clinical training is offered at more than 135 sites across Georgia to host students for their internships, residencies, and fellowships.
