Savannah Center for Blind and Low Vision Postpones Annual Fundraiser Dining in the Dark for 2022

The Savannah Center for Blind and Low Vision has decided to postpone this year’s highly anticipated fundraising event, Dining in the Dark, originally slated for Saturday, January 22, 2022. As the team continues to follow the guidance of city leaders, they plan to reschedule the evening once the health and safety of attendees is no longer in jeopardy.

“The well-being of our guests, clients, donors, and staff is the most important aspect for us. Although it was a tough decision to postpone the event, we know it is the safest option,” said Leslie Eatherly, Director of Development for Savannah Center for Blind and Low Vision. According to the 2022 chairperson for this year’s event, Susan McGahee, the team is excited to announce that the event’s popular online auction will still take place and can already be accessed by everyone at http://auctions.networkforgood.com/go/DiningintheDark2022.

Since its founding in 1963, The Savannah Center for Blind and Low Vision has operated off of grants, donations, and generous support from the community, and is Southeast Georgia’s only fully accredited, community facility providing rehabilitation services for individuals of all ages who are blind or visually impaired. The Center has grown to serve as a model of innovative services throughout the 29 counties they serve in the southeast portion of the state. Adhering to the mission of providing comprehensive services to promote independence with dignity and confidence for those who are blind or visually impaired, they are able to assist nearly 500 patients each year. All services are customized to meet the individual’s personal goals toward adjustment for vision loss.
